WELCOME

As the new owner of the Mill Providore & Gallery, I am delighted to share some exciting things that are happening in the deli/store and the upstairs gallery space, and also to offer you an introductory discount (see below).

My aim is to reinvigorate The Mill as a cultural hub of the very best in produce, art and design. I want to celebrate the amazing work of Tasmanian producers and artisans whilst continuing to source special food, home wares and art from across Australia and overseas.

I hope you won’t mind receiving this introductory e-news from me, but if you’d prefer not to receive it in future, please click on the ‘unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of the email.

Hope to see you at The Mill soon – I’d also love your feedback, so feel free to email me (new website, blog etc to follow).

NEW PRODUCTS & SPECIALS

Summer Sale – up to 50% off. To make space for new artworks, upstairs in the gallery you’ll find a wide range of home wares, gifts and children’s clothes on sale. Most items are one-offs and they are going fast.

image004These hand formed fine white porcelain vessels, rings, pendants, and brooches are hand painted with a one-off design. The rings are made with sterling silver adjustable bands to fit most fingers.  I fell in love with them on a trip to Melbourne and am delighted to offer a small collection for sale for the first time in Launceston.

We’ve also got a gorgeous new jewellery collection by local designer ‘Belle Bird’.

Hand-made Cocobean chocolates & flower posies

Believe me, I’ve tried a lot of chocolates around the world and I think Cocobean are the best and they’re made right here in Launceston! Their new chocolates are now in – and we’ve also got some lovely flower posies wrapped in stylish brown paper & string for $25 per bunch.

ORDER YOUR TSO & CUP GOURMET PLATTERS

image019Our platters of gourmet deli items are ideal for Symphony Under the Stars, the Cup, or for lazy picnics with visiting friends and relatives. And if you order a double platter as shown for $30, you can also buy Anita Dineen’s 2009 Tasmanian Design Award Glide Gourmet Knife for $20 (RRP $24.95). Inspired by the winged seed of the sycamore tree and designed not to tip in a dip, this would be both a useful and stylish addition to any picnic. NB. Orders for Symphony platters are needed by the end of this Friday – ring 6331 0777.

INTRODUCING THE TEAM

Ollie, our Deli Manager, has worked at The Mill for nearly 5 years. He was born in Canada but grew up on a farm in the Hunter Valley in NSW and went on to study engineering. But it was his love of premium food, wine and fishing that brought him to Tassie.  “I love working at The Mill because our customers share my gourmet passions and they also appreciate good old fashioned service” he says.
